SPORTS ACHIEVEMENTS

Legae School has been a Member of the Southern Schools Sports Committee since 1989.  This Committee is made up of 16 Schools whom we compete against in a variety of sports.

Soccer and Netball

Legae has 6 soccer teams and 5 netball teams. We have been in the top of the league in the last ten years.

Cross-Country

Our Cross-Country teams have been first for many years.

 In the last 11 years our athletics teams have won 5 times, been placed second 5 times, and placed third only once. 

 Softball and Hockey

We have 4 softball teams and they have done very well.  Quite a number of our Children have been selected to play for Southern Botswana over the years.

In 2002 we introduced Hockey to the School, and have done very well.  Since the last two years, the Junior Botswana team is mainly made up of Legae Children.

Basketball

In 2004, Legae joined the Basketball league, and our teams are showing great promise.

Other Sports

Legae also offers Gymnastics, Lawn Tennis, Table tennis, Swimming, Volleyball and Rounders – all which we hope to compete in the near future.  All of these sports are covered in our Physical Education (P.E.) lessons, alongside the new National Sports Curriculum that has incorporated more aspects of Traditional Dance and games.
